The Knox Box is to assist the elderly and/or people with disabilities, to allow the Fire Department to have access to their homes, in the event they can not answer the door.

                               The box is placed over the door facing the outside, and has a locked safe-type compartment that holds the key to the residence.

Since the program has been started, we have used these boxes numerous times, to assist our residents. At this time, we have 100 residential Knox Boxes in service.

The outright cost for a Knox Box is $165.00 or rent for $20.00 per year. Our annual Pancake Breakfast makes that possible.

​

We recommend the rental of a Knox Box because if you move to another community your box must be re-keyed.
